This very powerful and potent pure essential oil is produced through the steam-distillation of the bark from the Birch tree. Birch has been regarded as a medicinal plant in Siberia and Russia for centuries, and was often used to help eliminate pain associated with arthritis.

Birch pure essential oil has a fresh and crisp aroma that is reminiscent of wintergreen. Pure essential oil of birch is comprised of about 95% methyl salicylate, more commonly known in it's synthesized form as aspirin. Birch is credited with the ability to ease pain and reduce swelling. It is often used in massage blends when aches and pains are present.

Due to its potency, pure essential oil of birch should be used sparingly and with caution. Birch pure essential oil should never be used on the skin undiluted.
